Coltrane on the Penobscot

Some easy day-sailing in Searsport Harbor with the John Coltrane Quartet laying down Equinox, one of my all-time 60′s jazz favorites.

 

Castine and Herreshoff Boats

Buddy and I sailed across Penobscot Bay to Castine and found a gathering of classic wooden sailboats.  They were attending a symposium on boats designed and manufactured by Nathanael Herreshoff, from the early 20th century.  Later we drifted up and down the Bagaduce River with the tide.
